Rowling have done extremely well in the box office as well. According to Box Office Mojo, the six Harry Potter films rank in the top 30 all time for worldwide box office sales. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Released in Two Parts
The seventh and final book in the Harry Potter series will be split into two movies. Part 1 will be released on November 19, 2010 and Part 2 is planned for a released date sometime in May of 2011. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is the longest of the seven books and the decision to make it into two movies was a wise one. As the conclusion of the series it leaves no unanswered questions and the film makers have the important job of portraying all aspects of the story onto the big screen.
Harry Potter Cast Intact for the Final Two Movies
When Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone was released back in November of 2001, young Daniel Radcliffe burst onto the seen as the title character. Nine years later, Radcliffe is still playing Harry Potter, and much of the original cast is still on board. Harry Potter's closest companions, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, are still being played by Rupert Grint and Emma Watson respectively.
Ralph Fiennes continues to star as Harry Potter's evil nemesis Lord Voldemort. Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix Lestrange), Alan Rickman (Severus Snape), and Robbie Coltrane (Rubeus Hagrid) all return for the final films. The continuity of the cast is impressive for a movie series that has spanned almost a decade.
